Michael A. Krawczyk Memorial Foundation

The 5th Annual Michael Krawczyk Memorial Golf Classic was a huge success and we donated to The Gift From the Heart Foundation and to the Brain Injury Association of Illinois. Thanks to all of our friends and family that make this event possible every year

Welcome to the MAK Memorial Foundation!

On June 16, 2005, my parent's worst nightmare came true. We learned that our beloved Michael passed away in a terrible car crash at the young age of 25. During the difficult months that followed, we decided to turn a tragic loss into something positive. So, in March 2006, the Michael A. Krawczyk Memorial Foundation (MAK Memorial Foundation) was established. This not-for-profit charity honors Michael's life and continues his legacy of teaching the game of golf.

Michael graduated, as valedictorian, from the Professional Golfers Career College in Temecula, California. He had just begun his professional career as golf pro at the Trilogy Golf Course in La Quinta, California. He was a hard worker and an excellent teacher. After just one lesson with Michael, your golf game would immediately improve.

Michael was known for his passion for life, his kindness to others, and his gregarious personality. When you glimpsed his smile and determined demeanor, you knew that he was destined for greatness. Even more impressive was his love for his friends and family and his zest for life!

It is our family's mission to turn our terrific loss into opportunities for others. Our memories of Michael have not faded; in fact, our appreciation and understanding of who Michael was and what he meant to us has grown stronger. We know that Michael would have wanted it this way.

Every May (Mike's birthday was May 23rd) we host the Michael Krawczyk Memorial Golf Classic. This year (2009) the event will be on Friday, May 14th at Bloomingdale Golf Club in Bloomingdale . For the past three years, in the fall, the MAK Foundation held another golf tournament fundraiser  at the Trilogy Golf Course in La Quinta, California. This was where Michael was a golf-pro; however, we will no longer hold this event in California. I would like to thank the people who worked so hard year after year in organizing this event on the west coast: Brandon O'Neill, Nick Mitchell and Mike Feeney. Thanks for your commitment and support! We love you guys!

For each event, we choose a not-for-profit organization that will benefit from the proceeds of the tournament. The proceeds for this year's event will benefit The Gift from the Heart Foundation.
